Maggie's Misadventure

In a complete and utterly selfless gesture of solidarity – reminiscent of such canine heroes as Lassie and Rin Tin Tin – Maggie has decided to join me on my Isagenix cleanse program.

Unfortunately, she does not appear to have grasped the entire concept behind Isagenix.

While Isagenix products may or may not be quite healthy for human consumption, I can with absolute certainty say that it is not advisable for dogs to eat an entire bottle of 60 Isagenix “snacks” in one sitting.

I am still puzzling over how she managed to get the brand new, fully sealed bottle opened – without marring it with any teeth marks, no less. No amount of interrogation persuades her to reveal her method.

Even the cat's lips are sealed. I suspect an inside job.

Slightly concerning is that the lid for the bottle is completely missing. I only hope she didn't eat that too.

To make matters worse, the “snacks” she consumed were chocolate – toxic for dogs.

It is clear she has been experiencing some gastrointestinal distress - between frequent barking episodes during the night where she needed to go outside, some serious flatulence, and a refusal this morning to eat anything at all, she was not quite herself. Yet, at the same time, there is a slightly euphoric glint in her eye, knowing she got away with something.

Her appetite seems to have fully returned now. There has been a lot of coughing - we think she may have heartburn. Also noticeable is a completely insatiable thirst. I haven't noticed that the snacks make me thirsty but then I guess I never inhaled 60 of them in under 30 seconds.

Given that she survived the entire easter bunny she scarfed down unnoticed, last spring, I've not been hugely concerned though I have kept an eye on her, just in case.

I’m really going to be annoyed if she ends up losing more weight on this than I do.

Darn dog!

Woo hoo!

Okay I am loving the Isagenix so far. I am only on day 4, have only 10-15 lbs to lose - normally have a lot of difficulty losing weight AND have not been 100% strict with it (if I'm really hungry I eat more than what they suggest, but do eat "whole foods") and yet - I am alreayd down 3.5 lbs, and have lost 2.5" off my waist!

I decided to modify my plan and am now doing the 30 day plan instead of 9 day, as 2 days in a row with just liquids was not going to work for me. I tend to be hypoglycemic and although i wasn't totally frantically starving yesterday I did have trouble sleeping last night.

Plus the 30 day plan just seems healthier.

Although the Isagenix "snacks" took a bit of getting used to, all of the products have tasted okay. I'd not say any of them are "delicious" but they are palatable. Actually the "get more energy now" or whatever it's called IS good - tastes like lemonade!

I get a lot of people contacting me for help with weight loss, and use Zensight to that end (focusing on the healing symbol has been VERY helpful for me in dealing with any anxiety or issues that come up in terms of fear of being hungry...which has tended to be an issue for me).

I'm thinking I may start recommending this, in addition to Zensight for dealing with the emotional issues that often surround eating and weight, as long as nothing dire happens in the next few days :-)

Tubing Down the Elora Gorge

Kevin and I got a chance to take off overnight and went to the Elora Inn - without the kids! :-)

We also spent the day tubing down the Elora Gorge - it was a lot of fun.

The ride starts out very wild - one time I got thrown off my tube but managed to catch it, and there were a few near misses and one very hard whack against a rock - but most of the time it's pretty calm and relaxing.

We rode down the Gorge twice in its entirety plus did a few extra shots of just the roughest starting point.

Unfortunately I had a mild "swimmers' ear" external ear infection prior to going tubing, and it quickly developed into a very severe infection, so I had excruciating pain at night and barely slept at all in spite of the Elora Inn's wonderfully soft and relaxing bed - and I'm still waiting for my hearing to return though the pain is better now - but I would still do it again!

Next time I will use ear drops and make sure I have no infection to start with!

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures. It's kinda hard to bring a camera while going tubing. Too bad because I'm sure we looked funny in our tubes, complete with life jackets and helmets.

Isagenix

Lately I have had difficulty recovering from infections and viruses - I also have problems with sugar cravings, fatigue in the afternoons, and would like to lose about 10-15 lbs.

Someone recommended Isagenix to me. I had never heard about it before but decided to give it a try.

I purchased the "9 day cleanse" and today have started "pre-cleanse day 1". There are 2 pre-cleanse days so it seems to be it's actually an 11 day cleanse, but apparently if you have done the program once before you can skip the 2 pre-cleanse days.

I thought I would post about it here so that others can monitor my progress. I like to recommend products I do find helpful to others....so I guess we'll see if it's helpful or not.

I tend to get voraciously hungry at the best of times, so if I am able to stick to this program, anyone can. We'll see....

The pre-cleanse days involve an Isagenix shake to replace breakfast and supper and lunch is basically a healthy meal in the 600-800 calorie range.

So, so far, I've just had my first shake. It was okay. Not the best protein shake I ever had in my life but certainly not the worst. Blended just with water, but tasted okay. Tasted kinda healthy but not revolting or anything :-)
