Recently my kids and I went camping with my close friend Linda (and Maggie too!) to Valens Conservation area, near Cambridge, ON.
This is a yearly excursion, though we do go to different areas.
Each year brings some challenges, most typically in the form of poor weather conditions!
This year was no exception though we were lucky in that it only rained (albeit in extremes...) on the day that we arrived. We managed to set up our campsite during one of the periods in which the torrential monsoon-like downpour became lighter.
The next day however - and the remainder of our trip - was sunny and hot. Perfect weather for sitting by the lake.

It was a little messy, but well...it IS camping!

Here I am, trying to figure out how to get the stuff out of the cargo bag that I had so carefully packed into it. However, I did not have the kitchen chair that I had used to stand on, at home.
Lucky for me, Linda couldn't find her camera when we were preparing to go home and she caught me sitting on the roof of the car, trying to get everything crammed back into the bag!

Hailey and Owen's sandcastle creations...

and here's Linda!

Now THAT'S a campfire. Every year the kids tell us how much better we are at making campfires than Daddy is. We take pictures so we can show them off to Kevin. It's good we aren't competitive....
